After their success with EP Mirror in a Dark Room, and new focus, Stalins War set out to record their first true full length, Rebirth From Flames in 2004. It was while touring with this album that the band met up with Aiden, spawning the 2004 Aiden & Stalins War tour. With a slight line up change, Stalins War expanded with hardcore and metal influences from former guitist James Lucas and current bassist Nate Kotila. The track Isla de los Muertos included guest vocals by Brandon Fitzgerald of Abhorrance, a result of the Abhorrance & Stalins War US summer tour of 2003. Songs from the album are highly personal with lyrics concerned about the death of loved ones and the cycle of life. May Scores of Angels is still the catchiest song, showing off the powerful song writing capabilities of Matt and the band.
